Viliv S10 Blade tablet convertible netbook now shipping

The Viliv S10 Blade tablet convertible netbook is now shipping over at Dynamism.com. Well, some of the models at least, only the models with an Intel Atom Z530 CPU and 64GB SSD. Others will be released May 5 - 10.

Moreover, one Engadget reader has submitted his Viliv S10 Blade unboxing shots with an Intel Atom Z530 processor (1.6GHz) with a 64GB SSD and 3G.

Viliv S10 Blade Intel Atom Z530 / Z550 Review

The reviews for the Viliv S10 Blade tablet convertible netbook are out. JKKMobile has a review up for the Intel Atom Z550 (2.0GHz) model and UMPCPortal has reviewed the Intel Atom Z530 (1.6GHz) model.

On the design front, the S10 Blade is easily the most impressive 10-inch tablet convertible yet. At 1.21 kg / 2.67 lbs it’s amazingly light (and thin) especially given that most tablet convertibles are considerably bulkier than their standard laptop counterparts.

Touchscreen looks very responsive and fast, at least on JKK’s Z550 model. No controls on the screen bezel - that’ll be annoying when trying to rotate the screen or turn it off.

Battery is rated at 10 hours though tests show around 7.5 hours with Wi-Fi on, 70% brightness with general usage.

The Viliv S10 Blade will be orderable from March 25th on Dynamism.com with pricing from $699 to $1,149.

Viliv Netbook & Notebook Models On Way to US Shores

Viliv, a Korean PC manufacturer, has been creating efficient and creative portables for a while now. Although relatively unknown in the United States, Viliv’s visibility here does not accurately reflect on the quality of products released. Originally, Viliv’s merchandise was only available through online retailers, but that will change tomorrow: Best Buy plans on releasing a total of 5 new Viliv models, including the anticipated S7 convertible netbook. The Viliv S7 features a touch screen, Windows XP, 1GB of RAM, Bluetooth, and a 60GB hard drive.

Weighing a miniscule 1.76 pounds, and having dimensions of 8.3 by 4.6 by 1 inches, the Viliv S7 is highly portable. In the end, the S7 comes in at a reasonable cost of $579. As an added bonus, if the buyer registers a Sprint Mi-Fi or Overdrive hotspot, a $50 rebate will be included. Although $50 seems like a respectable offer, the mildly more expensive $649 S7 model has a 3G modem capable of utilizing any SIM card for internet connectivity. Which one’s the better investment? That decision will be left for you to decide.

Viliv S10 Blade Tablet Netbook Unboxed Video

Chippy from UMPC Portal has got in an early production sample of the upcoming Viliv S10 Blade convertible tablet netbook which sports a 10.1” 1366 x 768 display with resistive multi-touch. His particular model came with the Atom Z530 (1.66GHz) processor. Underneath reveals a removable li-poly battery supposedly good for up to 10 hours and an access panel for the 1.8” storage device.

The touch screen gets a workout as Chippy tests out 3 point touch, handwriting, virtual key typing and zooming in out and of webpages whilst pointing out the lack of palm rejection. It’s not looking too much different in terms of functionality and speed from my ASUS Eee PC T91MT.

The Viliv S10 Blade will be priced at $699 and should be available to pre-order from Dynamism very soon. All the configurations are available to check out.

Viliv S10 Blade Netbook Available For Pre-Order at $699

Viliv has finally confirmed pricing and availability for the long-awaited S10 Blade netbook. The convertible tablet netbook is now available for pre-order in North America for $699, coming with Windows XP. This particular model won’t include three-point multitouch output as promised, but other models are on the way.

Later iterations of the S10 Blade netbook will share the same basic features – a 10.1-inch 1366 x 768 resolution resistive, multitouch touchscreen, 1 GB RAM, Bluetooth 2.0 and a webcam. It packs either a 1.6 GHz or 2.0 GHz Intel Atom CPU and a variety of storage options: a 60 GB HDD or SSDs in 32 and 64 GB versions.

A number of the models will get HSPA 3G modules. Expect battery life to run as long as 10 hours.

We’re still in the dark about shipping dates, so keep your eyes peeled.
