Hewlett-Packard has recently rolled out the 15.6-inch HP Pavilion dv6t Select Edition entertainment laptop. The new version comes equipped with a touchscreen display, a Quad-core processor and a different case finish.

Dell’s AMD Quad-Core Inspiron M501R Laptop
The Dell Inspiron M501R is a 15.6-inch laptop that uses the latest AMD Phenom II X4 “Champlain” mobile processor. In case you didn’t know, the Phenom II X4 is a Quad Core CPU with a clock speed of up to 2.3GHz. Weighing 5.83 pounds, the Dell Inspiron M501R also uses either a 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 graphics or ATI Mobility Radeon HD 550v graphics, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, a 720p HD-capable display, an integrated 1,3MP webcam, a DVD burner and an optional Blu-ray drive.
Other features include a couple of speakers, 802.11n WiFi, optional Bluetooth, Ethernet LAN, three USB ports, an eSATA/USB port, optional 7-in-1 media card reader, VGA and HDMI outputs, a full-size keyboard with numeric pad and a standard 6-cell battery. The Dell Inspiron M501R laptop will be available later this summer in the U.S. No word on pricing at this time.
ASUS Eee PC 1201PN netbook available for pre-order in Germany
ASUS Eee PC 1201PN netbook with an Intel Atom N450 processor and next generation ION graphics was delayed to a June release in the US and a late May release for Europe and Asia. Well, it’s approaching late May now and in timely fashion, it has turned up for pre-order at Amazon Germany. It’s available in Silver, Black and Red color choice and price for 479 euros.

12.1” 1366 x 768 display, Intel Atom N450 processor, 2GB RAM, 250GB HDD, nVidia ION 2, Gigabit LAN, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, 3x USB ports, HDMI, VGA out, 6-cell 5600mAh battery and Windows 7 Home Premium.
No mention of a shipping date. Just a out of stock message.
The last we heard was that this model does not ship with Optimus to preserve battery life when not using the ION graphics chip, but it will be shipping with the dual core ASUS Eee PC 1215N (June release date was mentioned) and later 1201PN models down the track.
