Sounds like bollocks to me but according to Digitimes sources, Dell and HP aren’t so keen on netbooks anymore (heard that before with Dell on a prevoius occasion). Dell is said to be “reducing investments” in 10-inch netbooks while HP is said to be considering scrapping 10-inch netbooks in favour of 11.6-inch AMD powered notebooks instead because of slim profits from Pine Trail based netbooks.

ZaReason offering Teo Ubuntu netbook, one of the first ever Ubuntu netbooks, Terra A20, to go on sale in August last year.

The Teo is a 10-inch Pine Trail netbook which apparently is using the same chassis as the original MSI Wind U100 netbook. The specs: 10” 1024 x 600 (matte display), Intel Atom N450 processor, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD and an 6-cell 8 hour battery. It runs Ubuntu for the OS with Linux and Ubuntu stickers plastered to the palm rests.

Sounds nice enough though you’ll laugh once you hear the price: $459.99. Aren’t Linux netbooks supposed to be cheaper?

There’s no mention of this netbook on ZaReason’s homepage.

Samsung appears to have launched an updated version of the Samsung Go netbook. The new version looks identical to the original Samsung N310 and has the same rubberized case and chiclet-style keyboard that I loved so much when I reviewed the laptop last year. But the updated Go has a shiny new 1.66GHz Intel Atom Pine Trail processor.Here’s a rundown of the specs for the new Samsung Go N315:

Averatec are a well known clone maker of MSI machines, but with the launch of this latest offering the N1200 with all the latest machines it come with the 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 with GMA 3150 pine trail.

The Averatec N1200 netbook has what appears to be only one flaw and that is the two cell battery this can only be good enough for a couple of hours at most. However, on a plus note it is going to be lighter, so it is a matter of choice really.
