Samsung Go netbook updated, with Pine Trail processor

Samsung appears to have launched an updated version of the Samsung Go netbook. The new version looks identical to the original Samsung N310 and has the same rubberized case and chiclet-style keyboard that I loved so much when I reviewed the laptop last year. But the updated Go has a shiny new 1.66GHz Intel Atom Pine Trail processor.Here’s a rundown of the specs for the new Samsung Go N315:

The Averatec N1200 netbook specs and price

Averatec are a well known clone maker of MSI machines, but with the launch of this latest offering the N1200 with all the latest machines it come with the 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 with GMA 3150 pine trail.

The Averatec N1200 netbook has what appears to be only one flaw and that is the two cell battery this can only be good enough for a couple of hours at most. However, on a plus note it is going to be lighter, so it is a matter of choice really.

The Akoya E1222 from Medion

The Medion brand is well known throughout Europe but it was when they hit the euro scene with the Akoya netbook, which happened to be a copy or, as they like to say these days a rebrand of the very successful MSI Wind U100.

But since those early days the Akoya has been updated several times and now there is a new Akoya around, it is the E1222, it comes with the traditional ten inch display and of course the latest 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N450 Pine Trail CPU.

Pioneer Computers has recently introduced the DreamBook Lite M81, which is a 10-inch netbook with a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 CPU, a 1024 x 600 pixel display, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, and an optional Bluetooth or an HSPA/UMTS modem. This model is powered by Microsoft Windows 7 Starter Edition, a 2.5-inch hard drive, and up to 2GB of RAM. Weighing 2.65 pounds, the DreamBook Lite M81 retails for $356.

Samsung will launch the first netbook with built-in 4G using Long Term Evolution (LTE). This technology allows the 10-inch Samsung netbok to delivers download speeds of up to 100Mbps thanks to the Samsung Kalmia 4G chipset. The netbook is powered by a 1.66GHz Pine Trail-era Atom, a 1GB of RAM, up to a 250GB drive and 8.5-hour battery (albeit with 4G off).
