HP Mini 311 listings appear on support site

The HP Mini 311 may not be confirmed by the Mothership just yet, but that isn’t stopping the ION-equipped netbook from popping up on the company’s support pages, in 37 different sub-flavors (don’t read too much into that, it’s just the way the company works — after all, Pavilion z2300 has 31 entries of its own). It still doesn’t answer the question of when we’ll see the potent portable, but at least we know it’s inevitable at this point.

Samsung N510 Gets Unboxed in Europe

Samsung N510

A couple more videos of the Samsung N510 ION powered 11.6” mini-notebook have showed up. One is an actual unboxing and another shows the N510 at IFA 2009, so you can expect lots more videos coming up soon.

Another video of someone doing an unboxing of the Samsung N510 in Europe somewhere. This model comes with an Atom N270 processor.

He also has a few follow up videos of the N510 booting up for the first time. (Part 1 and Part 2)

ndeviltv has a hands on video of the Samsung N510 over at IFA 2009. It has the cut down ION LE (for Windows XP) instead of the normal ION as you know. It’s going to be available for 499 Euros this month in Europe. Interesting to note that it’s coming with an Atom N280 processor, so it looks like it’s not just the US getting an Atom N280 model.

12.1” Medion Akoya Mini E1313 Hands On Video

medion akoya mini e1313

That Medion Akoya E1313 we saw yesterday which is a rebranded 12.1” MSI Wind U210 with a touchscreen gets handled on video by the folks at Netbooknews.com.

I didn’t realize that the E1313 comes with an ExpressCard/34 slot. 6-cell battery is not flush with the bottom and protrudes quite a lot.

Sascha says it should be priced at around 450 - 500 Euros and should be available in the first week of November in Europe. The question is, will MSI also be releasing a 12-inch Wind model with a touchscreen.

11.6” ION Powered HP Mini 311 In The Works

compaq-mini-311

It looks like HP has an 11.6” ION powered netbook on the horizon. Folks at the Notebook Review forums discovered a list of notebook model numbers that include a HP Mini 210 / Compaq Mini 210 and HP Mini 311 / Compaq Mini 311. Compaqs are rebranded HP Minis released in Europe.

Netbooknews.de discovered a retail listing for the Compaq Mini 311 which reveals an Atom N270 processor and ION LE graphics. The screen size is not mentioned but looking at the specs suggests an 11.6” display. They also found support manuals over at HP for the 311.

Other specs for the 311: Atom N270 processor, 160GB RAM, 1GB RAM, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Windows XP. 6-Cell Li-Ion battery. Altec Lansing Speakers. The usual array of ports including HDMI out. Weighs 1.46 kg.

So far there’s only this picture of the Compaq version of the 311 shown above found at some online store in Europe.

There’s currently no info about the HP Mini 210.
